Founded in 2011, AFWAFF (Women and Family Empowerment) was established with a clear mission to eradicate social and economic inequality within families and communities. Dr. Claire Nkehsera, the CEO and Founder, was inspired to start this organization after witnessing firsthand how social stratification often traps families in rigid socioeconomic classes based on factors like education, wealth, income, popularity, and power. In many communities, those with wealth and influence are expected to remain within their own stratum, perpetuating the cycle of inequality.
AFWAFF is committed to breaking these barriers by educating women and families on dismantling systemic inequality, fostering inclusive communities, and ensuring equal opportunities for all. We believe that when challenges arise within a community, it is our collective responsibility to address them. Our approach emphasizes collaboration with key stakeholders, mobilizing community resources, and extending support to the less privileged.
At AFWAFF, we are also dedicated to promoting multiculturalism and actively combatting racial discrimination. We strive for a society that celebrates diversity and treats every individual with respect and dignity.
Our work focuses on building strong family foundations that are grounded in love, resilience, and economic empowerment. Through workshops, mentorship programs, seminars, and startup funding for young female entrepreneurs and small businesses, we provide the resources needed for sustainable success. By investing in families, AFWAFF fosters long-term growth and creates ripple effects that strengthen entire communities, ensuring that no one is left behind.
